These posters, unlike modern examples, were printed in a woodcut or stone lithography process. When color is used the printing was called chromolithography. This printing process resulted in very rich and vibrant colors. Compared to a modern movie poster for example, vintage lithographs are not shiny, do not feature real photographs and the images are not as sharp or perfect.

Magic posters in the United States were printed in standard sizes. The size of the poster is very important. Below is a list of the posters sizes used;

Window Card: 14"x22"
Insert: 14"x36"
Half Sheet: 22"x28"
One Sheet: 27"x41"
Two Sheet: 41"x54"
Three Sheet: 41"x81" - usually printed in two sections
Six Sheet: 81"x81" - usually printed in 4 sections
Posters were printed from 8 up to 24 sheet sizes. If unused they will be printed in separate sections.

If you are measuring a poster and the sizes are slightly different by 1" or less, that is possible. When contacting us, please provide us with the actual size of your poster(s).
